About the Role


The Executive General Manager, Development & Sustainability is a key executive leadership role responsible for driving CleanCo’s strategic growth by overseeing the origination, development, and sustainability of its expanding fleet of clean generation assets. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team and a strategic partner to the CEO, this role shapes CleanCo’s future by identifying, initiating, and progressing the next generation of renewable energy projects, ensuring alignment with CleanCo’s commercial strategy and broader sustainability commitments.


Fully accountable for leading CleanCo’s development pipeline, this role provides strategic oversight of major renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, hydro, and energy storage. The Executive General Manager ensures project feasibility, commercial viability, and long-term sustainability while delivering meaningful economic and social benefits to the communities in which CleanCo operates. In an evolving energy landscape, the role requires the ability to lead through complexity, drive innovation, and navigate external challenges with resilience.

 

About you


To be successful in this role, you will bring extensive executive leadership experience in large-scale project development, with a demonstrated ability to lead the full lifecycle of major renewable energy projects. You will hold a tertiary qualification in engineering, business, sustainability, or a related discipline, complemented by at least 10 years of senior leadership experience in energy infrastructure, project origination, or strategic development.


Your ability to lead large, high-performing teams in dynamic, fast-paced environments will be essential. You will possess deep commercial acumen, strong financial and contract negotiation expertise, and the ability to influence complex stakeholder networks across government, industry, and local communities. Your strategic mindset, combined with a hands-on approach to problem-solving, will enable you to navigate regulatory, financial, and operational challenges while keeping CleanCo at the forefront of the clean energy transition.
